If you’re familiar with the traditional, school-age PBIS model or had a chance to look at the document I shared highlighting similarities and differences between the school-age PBIS model and the Pyramid Model, then right away, you will have noticed there is a lot of overlap between them.

Previously I wrote about my discovery of the Pyramid Model, which is a model of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) for preschool and early childhood populations. This time I’d like to share a great resource related to the Pyramid Model, which I have found to be invaluable in enhancing my understanding of this model.

As I think is true for most people when making significant life changes, I approached my new role as a Preschool Behavior Specialist at the RSE-TASC with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. It was a big change from my previous experience working at schools for children with disabilities in Brooklyn and Manhattan, but I was ready to try something new. And new it was!
