Transition Early Bird Special: Updates to the Superintendent’s Determination for a Local Diploma
February 14 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 amFree
Join us for a morning cup of coffee/tea as we discuss the recent updates to the Superintendent’s Determination for a Local Diploma. This will be a relaxed learning and discussion session. The Board of Regents adopted emergency regulations to expand the criteria under which students with IEPs may qualify for the Superintendent’s Determination option, in effect for students seeking to graduate in January 2018 and thereafter. The amended regulations now permit students who have passed their ELA and mathematics Regents-level courses, but are unable to earn a minimum score of 55 on the ELA and mathematics Regents examinations (or successfully appeal a score between 52 and 54) to seek a superintendent determination by completing the requirements of the NYS Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential.
