Explicit Direct Instruction – The Key to Effective Lessons (Day 1 of 3)
July 9 @ 8:45 am - 3:15 pmFree
Effective teaching and efficient use of limited instructional time in classrooms are critical to improve outcomes for our students.
In this three-day training, participants will learn the key components of Explicit Direct Instruction, a research-based framework for developing and delivering classroom lessons to students of all abilities that has proven to be especially effective for students with disabilities.
For this series, we will also introduce Self-Regulate Strategy Development (SRSD), a six-stage gradual release model of instruction for supporting writing process instruction. When used to teach writing, this approach supports students in developing skills, strategies and self-regulation capacities that expert writers possess.
Participants will leave with a portfolio of specific strategies they can immediately implement in their classrooms, as well as the tools for creating lessons across all content areas that are engaging, rigorous and effective.
Day 1: Monday, July 9, 2018
Day 2: Tuesday, July 10, 2018
Day 3: Friday, July 13, 2018
