The Neighborhood Navigator on The Parent Center – Support for Families and More

Your Neighborhood Navigator has been busy meeting many interesting people in our community! Today’s visit takes us to the Hudson Valley Parent Center (HVPC). Although located in the heart of Westchester County at the Westchester Institute for Human Development, the center serves the entire Hudson Valley region. Parent Centers are under the umbrella of New York State Department of Education (NYSED) and there are 14 across the State.

Introducing The Neighborhood Navigator! Independent Living Centers

There are literally hundreds of supports and services available to children and adults with disabilities throughout Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. Offerings vary depending on individual need, personal resources, provider capacity and more. Navigating the web of programs and services with a clear understanding of just exactly who is eligible for what can be a treacherous journey indeed. Not to worry! The Neighborhood Navigator is here!
tagline

Measuring the Future: Data on Post-School Outcomes

Our overarching goal is to improve student outcomes. We want all of our students to be successful, independent, and engaged adults. Educators and school systems accomplish this goal through the implementation of evidence-based practices. When implemented, many strategies in behavior management, curricula, teaching methods, and other educational areas can be evaluated for effectiveness in improving student outcomes.
